Opportunity description

Stored from SAM.gov public data

Amendment 0001 - Septmeber 18, 2026 The solicitation is being amended to proceed under a sole source determination to Chromalox. The Government issued an initial Solicitation and received multiple small-business offers; however, the responses demonstrated that third party sources introduced substantial price increases and did not provide a cost effective or viable alternative to the OEM. These results further validate that procurement from Chromalox, as the Original Equipment Manufacturer, is required to maintain operational integrity and prevent mission delays as well as unnecessary cost impacts. Accordingly, the solicitation is amended to reflect a sole source procurement to Chromalox to ensure continuity of operations and alignment with established performance requirements. Please see attachments for amendment information. Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY), Portsmouth, VA, has a requirement for Heat Tracing Strip, Tape Model #: SRL 5?1CR, Chromalox P/N: 382758. This requirement will be procured as a brand?name sole?source acquisition from Chromalox, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), and its authorized distributors. The requested parts are one?for?one replacements and must be procured directly from the OEM (or its authorized distributor) to ensure the equipment operates in accordance with shipyard and OEM performance standards. Any other parts or accessories not manufactured by Chromalox would risk malfunction, render the equipment inoperable, and cause delays in scheduled vessel work packages. This solicitation will result in a Firm?Fixed?Price (FFP) contract. No substitutes are allowed. Please refer to the attachments for the complete description and specifications. Vendors shall submit: A completed: Solicitation (SF 1449) N4215826QE080, Continuation Sheet (Attachment B), Technical Capability Statment (Attachment C), and A vendor's quote. NOTE. Quotes must be all?inclusive, including shipping and any associated costs. No additional charges will be accepted after award. Vendors shall submit pricing and documentation as specified in the solicitation package.

GOVBIDFIT SCREENING LENS

What deserves attention before you spend bid time

Decision support

These screening signals are generated from the public notice fields stored for this specific opportunity. They are not eligibility findings or predictions; they are prompts for a faster, more disciplined review of the official solicitation.

Active solicitation stage

This record is in a solicitation stage, so submission instructions, evaluation factors, attachments and amendments should be reviewed before a bid/no-bid decision.

Very short response window

The stored deadline is within three days. Check earlier question, site-visit and attachment requirements immediately; the final response date may not be the first deadline that matters.

No socioeconomic restriction recorded

The current feed does not show a program-specific set-aside restriction. That does not remove other eligibility, responsibility, registration or solicitation-specific requirements.

Classification signal

NAICS 333414 · PSC 4520 is the recorded classification. Use it as a screening clue, then compare the actual scope and deliverables rather than treating the code alone as proof of fit.

Source and trust
